STEEL BAR CHANNEL

A rolled steel shape having a U-shaped cross section, with two narrower sides at right angles to a broader one. A shape is classified a "Bar Size Shape" when its greatest dimension is less than 3 inches.

STEEL JUNIOR CHANNEL

Type of channel usually having a lighter weight than its closest bar channel size, usually 6 - 10 lbs per foot.  Primarily, this is used in the construction of per-engineered housing and Stair Stringer.

STEEL MC CHANNEL

(car/ship)

Miscellaneous shapes suitable for car or ship building.

STEEL STRUCTURAL CHANNEL

It is a "Structural Shape" when at least one of its dimensions is 3 inches or greater.
